DESCRIPTION
NO EVENTS PERMITTED RIGHT NOW DUE TO COVID. Enjoy privacy and relaxation in this Modernist architect-designed home, including a private outdoor pool, optional hot-tub, wood-fired Finnish sauna, extensive decks, and professionally maintained gardens, on a gated luxury vineyard/winery estate in Central Saanich, 10 m. north of Victoria / 10 m. south of Sidney and the airport/ferries.
This estate has mature gardens and several charming outdoor dining spaces. The palm-tree and lavender lined in-ground pool is open May 15-Sept 15 at ambient temperatures. It can be propane heated (78-80 F / 26 C) in the summer months for $45 a day (2-week min. with 15-day advance notice). In the winter, it is available for cold plunges from the sauna only and cannot be heated. (7-day min. with 15-day advance notice. Please note that off-season pool temperatures are weather dependent and cannot be guaranteed in inclement weather. Hot tub located off the master suite is available for a $400 per stay fill and drain fee, serviced professionally, and guests are provided with complimentary spa test strips and supplies for sanitization use during their stay as an amenity. The hot tub reaches a maximum temperature per law of 103 F / 39 C. Pool service and gardener maintenance is weekly.
The home features huge windows showcasing stunning, expansive views of the Olympic Mountains and the estate vineyards. The house has two stories. On the main (ground/deck level) floor is the master bedroom, with a four-piece en suite, huge walk-in closet, Valor fireplace, library area, and direct deck access to the outdoor hot tub. On this level, there is a laundry, guest bath (half bath), pantry, and the main kitchen/dining/library area with a Scandinavian Jøtul gas fireplace and wall-to-wall library, well equipped with a wide range of reading materials and cookbooks for use during your stay. On the second floor, there are two bedrooms with a shared full bath, an office with a convertible fold-down bed (single), and a media room with sofa and television. Deck chairs, pool towels, loungers for the pool are provided, and there is an outside spa bathroom/changing room. All utilities are included in the rental fee.
We provide premium Shaw Blue Curve fibre-optic internet with a mesh network and unlimited data for residential purposes. Guests working from home via video have direct access to the modem on the second floor and are welcome to access ethernet speeds via cable. Please note: We cannot be responsible for business interruption on a residential-use account. Wifi speeds are suitable for streaming entertainment in the primary living and sleeping areas; connectivity in the areas outside the home varies. The on-site television is equipped with complimentary premium cable.
Guests have exclusive access to the house, two-car attached garage, deck area, and spa amenities. The vineyards and farm on the 6-acre property are professionally managed and are separate from the residence and rental. Vineyard crews and staff may be on-site in the non-residential areas of the property during daylight hours, and wine aficionados are welcome to reach out for tour and tasting of wine produced from the estate.
We are a licensed accommodation with Central Saanich and non-smoking, no-party property.
By local by-law, we have a 15-day minimum rental. Monthly rentals are not subject to the 13% GST/PST taxes. Please note that while children are welcome at the property, the pool, hot-tub, and vineyard on-site make this an adult-oriented property and the property is not "child-friendly." Amenity waiver-of-liability is required to confirm the booking. We are a COVID-aware property and follow enhanced protocols and all public-health guidance. A COVID waiver, indicating our mutual commitment to following public-health guidance and keeping guests and our estate staff safe, is required to confirm the booking.
